Rörstrand has a fascinating history dating from 1726. The journey made by Rörstrand since 1726 is not only fascinating and eventful, but it reflects three centuries of Swedish history-- time during which industry developed, culture began to play a role in people's lives, the industry came into its own and interest in colors, form and style grew in importance.

History of the brand

The history of Swedish ceramics production is interwoven with that of Rörstrand. Rörstrand was founded in 1726 and is therefore Europe's second oldest ceramics factory still in operation. Rörstrand is also one of Sweden's oldest manufacturing industries with a history uninterrupted since Frihetstiden, known in English as The Age of Freedom, a period of Swedish history in the 18th century.
